World Sight Day will be observed in Bangladesh

The World Sight Day will be observed in Bangladesh on October 15. National Eye Care under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will take out a procession from the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital (NIO&H) and organise a discussion meeting at NIO&H Conference Hall at Agargaon, Dhaka to mark the day.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mohammed Nasim will speak at the events as the chief guest. State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleque, Secretary of the Health Services Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Planning Md Serajul Huq Khan, Director General of DGHS Prof Abul Kalam Azad, former Director General of DGHS Prof Deen Mohd Noorul Huq and President of Ophthalmology Society of Bangladesh Prof Md Sharfuddin Ahmed, will remain present at special guests.

Line Director of National Eye Care (NEC) and Director of NIO&H Prof Dr Golam Mostafa will present keynote paper featuring eye care situation in Bangladesh, at the discussion.
Leading ophthalmologists and healthcare experts of the country and representatives from local and international NGOs working for eye care will attend the events.
